Fox's future highlight Panthers camp

"I think it's going to be fun," Smith football jerseys insisted. "We've got a lot more younger guys, so I think things are going to be different, a little bit more loose, a little bit more fun, a little bit of guys trying to establish their own traditions. I'm excited to see, to observe, what's going to happen."

With so many new and young players, Fox is expected to push the team harder when two-a-day workouts begin Thursday morning in perhaps his final camp at Wofford College.

Weakside linebacker Thomas Davis' season-ending knee injury last month will cause changes there, too. Pro Bowl pick Jon Beason could move from the middle to the outside. The Panthers jerseys plan to use Sherrod Martin as Harris' replacement at safety.

"There is a lot of starting positions on the line and a lot of candidates for them at all positions," said Everette Brown, a candidate for Peppers' old spot. "It's just going to pick up the intensity."

After allowing their career sacks leader to walk away in free agency, the Panthers also must replace both defensive tackles. Only starting defensive end Tyler Brayton returns

The defensive line has even more work to do.

Without their four-time Pro Bowl football jerseys pick in practices, the Panthers will shuffle in Dwayne Jarrett, Brandon LaFell, Kenny Moore and Armanti Edwards as they look for depth after Muhammad's departure.

"It's only been five weeks. Next week will be six weeks. All the analysts say it takes eight to 10 weeks to see how well I'll be able to use it," Smith said, refusing to say if he thinks he'll play in a preseason game

That's good because Smith will miss most of the preseason after being hurt playing in a recreational flag football game, a violation of his contract.

With DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart back after they each rushed for more than 1,100 yards last season and with one of the best offensive lines in the league, the Panthers are likely to lean on their running game as they settle their quarterback spot.

His hold on the starting job is hardly secure. The Panthers snatched up Jimmy Clausen in the second round after his remarkable fall in the draft, and the former Notre Dame star agreed to a four-year contract early Wednesday to avoid a holdout.

"I think if I make it bigger than it is, that's when things start going wrong," he said.

Moore, the affable, easygoing Californian, appeared far from overwhelmed as he reported to camp.

After finishing strong last season, Moore was handed the starting job when Delhomme was released following his miserable season. Moore is 6-2 as a starter, but those games came over two seasons after Carolina was already effectively eliminated from playoff contention.

The biggest intrigue will be at QB and on the defensive line.

"I feel like I'm one of the older guys because I'm in my third year," said Mackenzy Bernadeau, a candidate to start at right guard.

Fox enters the last year of his deal with the challenge of getting a team with 63 players who are 25 or younger ready to compete in the same division as the Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints.

Only Jeff Fisher in Tennessee, Bill Belichick in New England and Andy Reid in Philadelphia have been with their teams longer than John Fox. But his ninth season in Carolina could be his last after he was denied a contract extension in the offseason.

After finishing 8-8 last season and under orders by owner Jerry Richardson to cut costs with labor unrest looming, the Panthers begin a season full of uncertainty that includes their coach.

"There's a lot of wide eyes with the youth," Moore said.

At least he's old enough to grow one.

The new leader looked different, too. Matt Moore, thrust into the starting quarterback job despite just eight career starts, showed up with a thin beard.

"The vibe around here is unknown," said Smith, out of his cast but still weeks away from returning from a broken arm. "Literally, half of them just pulled up."

Just how young is Carolina? Steve Smith, at 31, is the oldest position player on the roster and one of only four players not born in the 1980s.

No sign of veterans Muhsin Muhammad, Brad Hoover, Damione Lewis, Maake Kemoeatu, Na'il Diggs, Chris Harris or Keydrick Vincent, either. All were former starters. All were then let go in the Panthers' offseason youth movement.

Jake Delhomme didn't walk up with his familiar smile and trash bag draped over his shoulder. The seven-year starting quarterback was cut, then signed with Cleveland.

There was no wondering which side door Julius Peppers jersey might try to sneak through to avoid reporters outside the dormitory. The star defensive end is in Chicago now.

The familiar sights were missing on Wednesday morning as 80 mostly young guys reported for the start of Carolina Panthers training camp.

What DeMarcus Ware talks about with Jason Cole

Jason Cole: Talk about your experience with adopting Marley.

DeMarcus Ware jersey: People really don't realize the blessings you can give another child, but also the blessings they can give to you. When we went to the adoption agency and we had an opportunity to adopt Marley, we were really thinking about what kind of child she was, that this was our blessing, that she is our child and that this is what God wanted us to do. Just from that, Marley is starting to realize just how much we love her and she's showing that love back. She's just a bundle of joy. Just from working with Jonathan's Place, I see a lot of kind of battered kids go in there, looking for shelter. It's a lot of inner-city kids, even some families looking for shelter. The kids will come in there for clothes or toys or whatever they need and then they'll be there for months. Then those kids will get a family to come help them out and you see the way they change from being all scared to blossoming, then getting a job, then thriving. They don't have that fear about what's going to happen to them and that's one thing Marley didn't have. We took all that away, all that fear. We took all that anxiety away from her and gave her a loving family.

Cole: Does she understand that she's not your biological child?

Ware: She's so young that she don't get that right now. We put that in her head, not that she was adopted, but that she was a blessing. We're going to tell her eventually who her mom is, everything. Give her a chance to meet her mom, whatever that may be. The thing is, you can never keep that hidden. It has to all be upfront so she understands.

Cole: You want to make sure she's completely comfortable with who she is.

Ware: Absolutely.

Cole: Your wife is five months along on this pregnancy. That's great, but is there any nervousness about it after the three miscarriages she has already had? That's a lot of heartache.

Ware jerseys: No nerves at all. People sometimes say, "You can't have kids?" or "There is going to be some kind of complication." Then this happens and there is another opportunity to have a child. So why be afraid? Yeah, you do get scared a little more each time. But it's sort of like, what have we not been through? We're taking that mentality and we're taking it as far as it will go.

Cole: A boy?

Ware: Yeah, a little boy. After losing two boys and now being surrounded by women in the house, this is that opportunity to have a little sidekick beside me. It's a blessing.

Cole: Got a name yet?

Ware: No, not yet. He'll probably be a junior, DeMarcus Jr.

Cole: So really, there are a lot of great things coming together in your life at the same time. Does this put a different emotional spin on the season for you?

Ware: I don't think it puts any different spin on this season. It's just about being grateful for the things that you have. It's not that it's a special opportunity; it's just that this is [what] you have in front of you.

Cole: What's up with this plan to have training camp in San Antonio and in Oxnard, Calif.? That sounds like it could be distracting.

Ware: Really, if you ask me in a few days where I am, I don't even really know. Because of the schedule and whatever else we have to do and how tough it is, I don't even know where I am a lot of the time. But I think this way, because of the schedule and traveling around, we're going to have a couple of more days off. On those travel days, we'll get to rest and you usually don't get that in camp. So it's actually a benefit. Usually, you're going back-to-back-to-back for a whole month. You don't get any days off. But now were going to fly to Canton [for the Hall of Fame game], fly to Dallas. Then we're going to fly to Oxnard. And you can't practice those days, so it's an extra day off. Get some sleep. I can sleep anywhere. You give me an opportunity to lay my head down for a couple of hours, it's good.

Cole: What's going to get this team beyond where it has gone the past three years? I know you got your first playoff victory in 13 years last season, but there's much more expected for the Cowboys jerseys.

The record straight on Brady

So with that on-the-record information as a backdrop, here is an all-encompassing look at where things stand with Brady and where they may be headed:

"Let's put it like this: Tom Brady jersey is going to be part of this franchise. He wants to be; we want him," Kraft said at the time.

In a Sirius NFL Radio interview in June, Patriots owner Robert Kraft called contract talks with Brady "complicated," a reference to the league's uncertain labor forecast and the brewing battle between owners and the NFL Players Association. In March, Kraft had expressed confidence that an agreement ultimately would be reached.

Brady's reference to a "unique time in the league" hits at the heart of why a deal has not been reached between him and the Patriots, or between the Indianapolis Colts jersey and star quarterback Peyton Manning, who is also in the last year of his contract.

"There is a lot of uncertainty with the league, and being a player rep now, I realize all the different issues that we're facing. It's a really unique time in the league, and as a team player, I don't sit here saying, 'What about me, What about me?' I'm under contract, and I'm going to go out there and play and play my butt off."

"I'm under contract, and I signed a six-year contract five years ago," Brady said on Jan. 25, reminding reporters that he is not the only player in this situation.

On that day, Brady didn't sound like a player who would consider a training camp holdout. Unless something has dramatically changed since then, and there are no tangible indications that is the case, Brady will be in his familiar spot next Thursday when the Patriots football jerseys open their 51st training camp: under center, leading the offense.

"I think we're way overpaid as it is, all of us," Brady said Jan. 25 while making a Boston-based appearance for charity. "We get to go play football for a living. I love playing, and I'm very fortunate to play. … [The contract is] not really a concern."

 EnlargeTom Brady

Much like the Patriots' embarrassing 33-14 playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Brady buzz has spiraled out of control quickly, running counter to what Brady said earlier this year.

Whoa.

Perhaps as a result of this slow time on the NFL calendar and little tangible news to digest, Brady's status has become a sizzling media topic. A possible holdout has even been debated.

New England Patriots quarterback new Tom Brady jersey is entering the final year of his contract. Have you heard?

Most Intriguing Pre Training-Camp Rumors

1、Is Joe Flacco not happy about Marc Bulger?

Joe Flacco jersey is the man in Baltimore, and the Ravens just added Marc Bulger as the back up. Is Flacco not happy about this? You decide after you read this quote from the Baltimore Sun.

"I don't want to have any bad words about Marc," Flacco said. "I'm sure Marc is a great guy. But I had a great relationship with Troy and John. Depending on what happens, one of them might not be around and two of them might not be around. We'll see what happens."

In other words, what the hell is he doing here?

2、Will Brett Favre jersey Return . . . Again?

If you are 40 years old and still have the ability to play starting quarterback in the NFL, you can take your time to decide when you will return. Some people call this grey haired bandit a diva, but they should call him the luckiest 40 year old in the world.

Not many old guys have an NFL playoff team hoping he'll start at QB for them.

3、Is JaMarcus Russell Eating and Purple Dranking Too Much?

Things haven't been going well for the former first overall pick. Getting cut by the new Raiders jerseys could have been a blessing in disguise for both sides. Getting arrested for "allegedly" sipping on some Purple Drank is not good for the young QB.

Will Russell find a team in the NFL? Will he find a team anywhere?

4、Will Tim Tebow see the field?

Tim Tebow is possibly the most famous number 25 pick in the history of the NFL. How will coaching genius Josh McDaniels use him? If Tebow makes the pro bowl early in his career, will McDaniels trade him because he is too skilled to play for Denver?

Only time will tell.

5、How Much Money Will Sam Bradford Make?

Is Sam Bradford really going to make more money than Super Bowl Champions Peyton Manning jersey, Drew Brees and Tom Brady? Something is not right here. How do you miss most of your last year in college, enter the NFL Draft and start making more money than a proven veteran? Gotta love the NFL.

The result of Chasing the Chargers

"You know what you're getting with Jamal," Bannan said. "That's a big man who knows how to play, who knows what needs to be done, and he's done it for a long time."
front as soon as free agency opened, signing Williams, Justin Bannan and Jarvis Green. Several personnel executives have said Williams, who missed virtually all of last season with a torn muscle in his arm, still can be a difference-maker, especially on first and second downs, as he moves into his 13th season.

McDaniels tried to bulk up the defensive

The new Broncos jerseys were trampled over the season's final 10 games a year ago, with five teams topping 170 yards rushing in those games. Denver had a playoff spot on the line when the Chiefs rushed for 317 yards in the season finale.

And the Chargers? They cut Williams and LaDainian Tomlinson as they try to hang on to what they've got and keep their roster young enough to "keep moving on," as Williams said. Running back Ryan Mathews is the player the Chargers hope will keep them running ahead of the pack. Coach Norv Turner was so smitten with him on draft day, he predicted Mathews would have 250 carries and 40 receptions this season.

ASHBURN, VA - JULY 30: Washington Redskins jerseysquarterback Jason Campbell (#17) talks with fans on opening day of training camp July 30, 2009

"You feel like draft day all over again," Campbell recently told Oakland reporters regarding his change of scenery.

The Raiders, meanwhile, may have solved their longtime problem at quarterback by acquiring Jason Campbell in a trade with the Redskins. The former first-rounder gives Oakland a chance to end its alarming parade at the position.

In Kansas City, running back new Thomas Jones jersey could prove to be the steal of free agency, a five-time 1,000-yard rusher the Chiefs scoped up days after he was released by the Jets.

Williams was snared by the Broncos to be the linchpin of a revamped defense after it collapsed against the run in a 2-8 finish last season.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels has said the Chargers are "the bar right now in the division," but each of the four teams made an impact move in the offseason in an attempt to change the balance of power.

the Chargers closed things out with 11 consecutive regular-season victories. In 2008, the Chargers made up a three-game deficit to the Broncos in the final month, including a win over the Broncos in the season finale to make the playoffs. They won six straight to finish 2007; 10 in a row to end 2006; and nine out of 10 down the stretch in 2004.
SAN DIEGO - AUGUST 12: Tackle Jamal Williams #76 of the San Diego Chargers looks on from the sidelines against the Seattle Seahawks during their preseason NFL game on August 12, 2007 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. (Freelance | Donald Miralle)

Last season the Broncos raced out to the lead, but

"It's a tough division, tough," Williams said. "You have to be physical, tough and you have to stay in it to the end to win it. We always kept ourselves in position early and then finished strong. That's guys making big plays in big games at important times."

But Williams is a Bronco now, looking at the Chargers like the rest of the division — from back in the pack.

Jamal Williams knows exactly, right down to the last bloody knuckle, how the West is won. Five times in the past six years, the team he spent 12 seasons with, the San Diego Chargers, won the AFC West title. The only blip in that streak was the Broncos' run to the AFC championship game in 2005.

Do you like which Wide Receivers?

Calvin Johnson jersey, Lions

Don't need to review. Ball in control, both feet inbounds this man right here just got somebody some fantasy points. This man is "Megatron" and while he's had some injuries and struggled early in his career things are looking up.

Despite a rookie quarterback last year and some injuries Calvin had 67 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns.

With another year under his belt and the same to be said for his quarterback they can develop some great chemistry. Provided he can stay healthy Calvin should once again be atop fantasy wide receivers, and could make the top ten.

Donald Driver, Packers

Green Bay's faithful Yep that's right the 35 year old Packer cracks the list at number 18 despite his old age. While Greg Jennings is the number one guy in Green Bay here's a little secret you might have not known, double D was a top 20 WR last year.

With Green Bay still launching its pass attack and consistent running by Ryan Grant they have one of the best offenses in the NFL. With a young upstart quarterback in Aaron Rodgers jersey, running back in Ryan Grant , wide receiver in Greg Jennings and tight end Jermichael Finley, Driver shows up when called upon.

Double D had 70 catches for 1,061 yards and scored six times. His old age is the only hit on him but even at his age he can still produce and deserves a spot on your team.

Percy Harvin jersey, Vikings

Last year's offensive rookie of the year. Also Mr. Migraine and even Mr Do It All. That's exactly what he did in his rookie season for the Minnesota Vikings. He battled migraines almost every week but played in every game except for week ten vs Cincinnati.

He can line up in the backfield for a "Wildcat" type of play, he's a slot receiver but an even more dangerous kick returner. If you get return points he can be even higher on the list, look for an even more explosive second year especially with Brett all but returning.

Oh yea, his quarterback? Good ol Brett. Favre that is. Favre was able to complete 60 receptions for 790 yards and six scores to this kid, he can only get better!

Michael Crabtree, 49ers jerseys

So, why is a rookie who held out for the first five games and has an under achieving quarterback in my top 20? Well it's sort of simple. Well for starters he's the best wide receiver that San Fran has.

He was a rookie last season and while there is a lot of work to be done his ball catching ability is through the roof and his big play ability can come at anytime.

This kid out of Texas Tech had 48 receptions last year for 625 touchdowns and while he only scored two touchdowns, if Alex Smith and Crabtree can get on the same page, they could be a great QB-WR connection. Fantasy owners, just wait.

Can Kevin Kolb Lead the Eagles Further than Donovan McNabb Did?

The pieces were put in place for Kevin Kolb this offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles jerseys traded long-time franchise quarterback Donovan McNabb to division rivals the Washington Redskins, making room for Kolb to take over.

Well, Kolb has to prove the Eagles made the right move pretty quick. Kolb will face McNabb and the Redskins twice this year and will get a chance to prove himself early on. In turn, McNabb can prove the Eagles made a mistake and will have a chance to outclass his former understudy.

Many Eagles fans have been chasing Donovan McNabb jersey out of Philly for the past few years with trade rumours constantly circulating every season. Finally, the rumours came true this offseason.

Kolb showed some positive signs that he's ready to be a starter when McNabb was injured early in the 2009 season. He became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for a total of over 300 yards in his first two starts.

Many have said that Kolb will turn out to be a more accurate passer on short passes than McNabb, but in his first two games he appeared to be stronger on long passes as he had good chemistry with DeSean Jackson.

Overall in 2009, Kolb threw for a total of 741 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in five appearances.

The good news for Kolb is that he has a very talented receiving corps who can go the length of the field. Coach Andy Reid's west-coast offence will give Kolb the opportunity to be very productive and light up the stat charts.

Kolb will still have to learn the intangibles of the game though as being a quarterback in the NFL requires a lot more than a strong arm.

Kolb will also have to learn about being under the spotlight in Philadelphia. They are some of the toughest fans in the league and can turn on a player in a hurry. Just ask new Donovan McNabb jersey.

Last season, the Eagles appeared to be on their way to the Super Bowl as they were rolling late in the season. However, injuries affected the team's defence and the departure of defensive leader Brian Dawkins proved to be too much for the Eagles to overcome.

The Eagles lost to division rival the new Dallas Cowboys jerseys both times during the season including a loss in Week 17 that allowed the Cowboys to snatch the NFC East Crown right from the Eagles fingers.

The Cowboys consequentially gained home-field advantage for their meeting in the wild card round the following week and crushed Philly 34-14.

Although the Eagles defence allowed five straight scoring drives in that game, many Philly fans placed a lot of blame squarely on the shoulders of McNabb, who struggled in the game. However, it was a team loss. It was just another case in football of a quarterback either getting too much credit for a win, or too much blame for a loss. As was the case many times among Philly fans, the latter was true.

Kolb now has to learn to deal with the pressure he is about to face. If he struggles early, you can bet that Eagles fans will quickly want to see Michael Vick placed into the starting role. Kolb will simply have to relax and learn slowly. It's his first season as a starter and he may need some patience from this teammates and Philly fans.

The second round draft pick of 2007 has been banked on by the Eagles organization to lead them into the future. Their success this season will largely be based on how the youngster adapts to life as an NFL starting quarterback in one of the toughest cities to play. All we can say to Kevin Kolb for now is, good luck kid.

Top QBs of 2010-11

1、Drew Brees jersey led them all last year, so what are the rankings for the top 20 fantasy quarterbacks?

Depending on your league, quarterbacks can be the most important player or just team managers.

This list has a huge separation from the bottom to the top, but this is compiled with the top options at quarterback to help your fantasy football teams. If you play in dynasty leagues pay close attention to the bottom half.

2、He's got his legal problems this is true, but when on the field is he one hell of a football player.

He missed one game last year due to a concussion, but when he was out there he was able to rack up 4,328 yards and 26 touchdowns.

While he will be out four to six weeks due to a suspension and Santonio Holmes is now with the New York Jets jerseys, Roethlisberger still has Hines Ward and a nice second-year player in Mike Wallace to throw to.Big Ben will be just fine if he can stay on the field. Pick him up late in drafts and he'll pay off for you when he returns.

3、Depression, what depression? Despite the rumors and stories that went on when Vince was struggling. In 2009-10, he showed us why he is one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

The guy is a proven winner and with the help of Chris Johnson and second year receiver Kenny Britt, VY10 will climb to new highs this upcoming season. The Titans will be forced to pass more with all the defensive focus being put on Johnson.

Young threw for 1,879 yards and 10 scores last season, while those may not be the most impressive stats, he'll definitely be turned to more this next season.

4、While new Frank Gore jersey is ranked No. 2 on the running back list, Alex Smith doesn't get nearly as much praise as Gore does.

Smith was labeled a bust before Vernon Davis' resurgence and Michael Crabtree's appearance. Smith was finally able to show why he was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2005 draft last season.

If Smith wants to prove his worth, he must build off of last season when he threw for 2,350 yards and 18 touchdowns.

He has the weapons to do so and Frank Gore might also help open up some passing lanes. Only time will tell but he's only good enough for this spot.

5、Not too much praise for David here, but he's one of those guys who can put numbers up quietly.

Garrard was Bryon Leftwich's replacement and in 2007 they handed him the keys and he had his best season. This past year he had a really nice showing with 3,597 yards and 15 touchdowns but the bad stat was his 10 interceptions.

He's not a bad backup and more of a fantasy matchup quarterback, so I wouldn't draft him as my first quarterback, or to play the Colts but he would do just fine against the Buffalo Bills.

6、I can't figure out which is more surprising, new McNabb jerseys in a Redskins uniform or McNabb at No. 16 on this list. But with the lack of star players in D.C. his value takes a serious hit.

McNabb threw for 3,553 yards and 22 touchdowns last season in Philadelphia. He also had Brent Celek, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy to throw to.

In Washington the targets will be slimmed down to Santana Moss, Malcom Kelly and Chris Cooley, who is coming off of ankle surgery.

McNabb will either just be a team leader who puts up average fantasy numbers, or he will turn those players around and make Washington a contender and still be a reliable first-option at quarterback and be a go-to fantasy quarterback.

The Pressure of the Patriots and Jets

Yet, he has a second-year quarterback, got rid of dependable tailbacks Thomas Jones and Leon Washington, added some character concerns in Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie, and the rest of the new NFL jerseys has had ample time to study the blitzing schemes he used so effectively last year.

Anything less than a Super Bowl berth will be a complete failure for Ryan.

Instead of dialing down expectations, Coach Rex Ryan has boasted that his team will be and belongs in the Super Bowl. The media and fans might let most coaches go with such boastful predictions, but not Rex Ryan.

The new Jets jerseysare coming off a surprising run to the AFC title game.

Without New England adding much established talent during the offseason and with slot receiver Wes Welker coming off major knee surgery, the Foxborough faithful will get impatient if Brady and company get off to a slow start.

Furthermore, the Pats defense was completely exposed when they couldn't stop the run against the Ravens in last year's playoffs.

The Patriots football jersey haven't been a true threat to win the Super Bowl since Tom Brady tore his knee ligaments in 2008.

Vikings' Allen,out of the ordinary

Quarterbacks rarely have that kind of immediate impact on a team's fortunes, let alone defensive ends. So let's break it all down.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, have imploded in the wake of the new Allen jerseys departure. A dominant defensive front in 2007, the Chiefs fielded one of the worst defensive lines in memory 2008. They barely improved in 2009.

Then Allen was traded to Minnesota in 2008: the Vikings football jerseys instantly went from a one-dimensional group of great run stoppers to a group of Defensive Hogs dominant in all phases of the game. They remained a dominant group in 2009.

By 2007, the Kansas City defense had improved dramatically, to the point that the stoppers carried the team despite a poor offense. Allen was a dominant defensive end in 2007 -- leading the league with 15.5 sacks -- and the Chiefs were a dominant group of Defensive Hogs: No. 5 overall on our Defensive Hog Index and the NFL's best defense on third downs.

Big changes were needed, and Allen was a part of that movement to solidify the defense. The Chiefs drafted him in the fourth round out of Idaho State. The Kansas City defense was actually worse in 2004 (27.2 PPG, 29th), but Allen showed promise with nine sacks as a rookie.

So Kansas City's promising 2003 season came crashing down around it, with a frustrating a 31-28 one-and-done playoff defeat at home.

Getty Images

Allen led the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2007, his final season with the Chiefs.

jared-allen-chiefs.jpg

Peyton Manning football jerseysand the Indy offense shredded the Kansas City defense like cabbage in cole slaw that day: they gained 142 yards on the ground, 304 through the air, averaged a dominating 6.9 yards per play and the converted 8 of 11 third downs. The Chiefs were helpless defensively.

The pre-Allen Chiefs of 2003 went 13-3, won the AFC West and boasted the league's No. 1 offense (30.2 PPG). But they fielded a brutal defense (20.8 PPG, 19th), as the football world witnessed in a divisional playoff game against the Colts.

Allen arrived in Kansas City in 2004, on a team desperate for defensive help.

The Jared Allen effect

In addition to identifying great teams, the Defensive Hog Index allows us to prove that Allen is the NFL's MV non-QB P.

In the three years since we've offered the Defensive Hog Index, the No. 1 team in the indicator has twice won the Super Bowl football jerseys(the 2007 Giants and 2008 Steelers). The No. 1 team last year went 11-5 and reached the playoffs (Green Bay). Not a bad performance considering the indicator came between bites of a 99-cent chalupa.

(The Defensive Hog Index, for you CHFF newbies, measures each defense in three areas: ability to stop the run, ability to force Negative Pass Plays -- sacks and INTs -- and ability to get off the field on third down. )

The Cold, Hard Football Facts, however, boast a statistic that measures the performance of each team's defensive front. We call it the Defensive Hog Index, an incredible indicator pioneered one night while waiting in the Taco Bell drive-thru lane.

In football, we have few ways to measure the performance of defensive linemen, save for sacks and the often misleading tackles: the former was not even an official stat until 1982, the latter, the most basic function of defense, is still not an official stat.

the new of Adrian Peterson

According to SI, the group helped villagers in Uganda as well as visited an orphanage in Cape Town, South Africa. They also assisted in digging wells, building a small school, distributing medical supplies.

Peterson football jerseys told SI he was struck by how the simplest necessities could be so difficult to get, with people often walking miles on dirt roads for fresh water. "It was a blessing to be in a position to experience that,'' Peterson said. "It makes you more grounded and be able to say, 'Hey, you think you've got it rough? Ha.' This was rough. This was survival.'

Shortly after the new Vikings jerseys season ended, Peterson and three other former Oklahoma football stars spent 10 days touring parts of Africa along with a group of Oklahoma City medical professionals, lawyers and business leaders. "It was humbling," Peterson told the Sports Illustrated website. "You really don't realize how blessed you are."

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's absence from Winter Park for the majority of the offseason means the local media hasn't gotten a chance to catch up with him on numerous topics. And not all areas of interest involve football.

Heading into the 2010 season and with the thousands of fantasy drafts that will occur leading up to the opening week of the NFL season, Johnson and Peterson find themselves entangled in a battle for the No. 1 pick in your fantasy draft.

On the other hand, if you had Minnesota Vikings RB new Adrian Peterson jerseys, you couldn't complain either. He had 1,819 total yards and 18 touchdowns.

Fantasy tip: We like cheap Moss jerseys as a late first-rounder or early second pick. A relatively safe fantasy pick, he still has wheels and can go over the top of most defensive backs. (knee), who has out-targeted Moss the past two years, may not be ready for Week 1. If he is in the lineup, expect Welker to be less than 100 percent for several weeks. The Patriots' star quarterback,
